{"id":338067,"name":"Mario Kart World","summary":"Mario Kart World is a kart racing game for the Nintendo Switch 2, featuring characters from the Mario franchise. It introduces an open-world design to the series, allowing players to drive freely between courses rather than selecting them from a menu. Races support up to 24 players and include new mechanics such as off-roading, boat racing, rail grinding, and wall riding. The game features a Knockout Tour elimination mode where racers compete across connected courses with periodic eliminations at checkpoints, as well as a Free Roam mode for open exploration and collectible-finding.","rating":79,"metascore":86,"metascoreSource":"metacritic","userScore":70,"userScoreSource":"metacritic","releaseYear":2025,"firstReleaseDate":"2025-06-05T00:00:00.000Z","releaseDate":"June 5, 2025","coverUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_cover_big/cob9s9.jpg","coverUrlFull":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_1080p/cob9s9.jpg","artworkUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_720p/ar3o77.jpg","artworkAspect":1.935483870967742,"developers":["Nintendo EPD Production Group No. 9"],"publishers":["Nintendo"],"developerCompanies":[{"id":45214,"name":"Nintendo EPD Production Group No. 9"}],"publisherCompanies":[{"id":70,"name":"Nintendo"}],"genres":["Racing","Adventure"],"platforms":["Nintendo Switch 2"],"hltb":null,"websites":[{"key":"twitch","url":"https://www.twitch.tv/directory/category/mario-kart-world"},{"key":"nintendo","url":"https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/nintendo-switch-2-mario-kart-world-121472/"},{"key":"reddit","url":"https://www.reddit.com/r/MarioKartWorld/"},{"key":"wikipedia","url":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_Kart_World"},{"key":"official","url":"https://www.nintendo.com/us/gaming-systems/switch-2/featured-games/mario-kart-world/"},{"key":"twitter","url":"https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica"},{"key":"facebook","url":"https://www.facebook.com/NintendoAmerica/"},{"key":"instagram","url":"https://www.instagram.com/nintendoamerica/"},{"key":"youtube","url":"https://www.youtube.com/nintendo"},{"key":"wikia","url":"https://www.mariowiki.com/Mario_Kart_World"},{"key":"discord","url":"https://discord.gg/mariokart"}],"externalGames":[{"key":"twitch","url":"https://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Mario%20Kart%20World"},{"key":"igdb","url":"https://www.igdb.com/games/mario-kart-world"},{"key":"metacritic","url":"https://www.metacritic.com/game/mario-kart-world/"}],"videos":[{"videoId":"3pE23YTYEZM","name":"Trailer","kind":"trailer"},{"videoId":"8nX7R2DI_tE","name":"Trailer","kind":"trailer"},{"videoId":"mq4uCJDwO9U","name":"Gameplay Video","kind":"gameplay"},{"videoId":"NWjkbAQOGY8","name":"Dev Diary","kind":"other"},{"videoId":"kqE7noDQLvs","name":"Dev Diary","kind":"other"},{"videoId":"FLYm4K7WMUw","name":"Dev Diary","kind":"other"},{"videoId":"V9tJ471FyM4","name":"Dev Diary","kind":"other"}],"screenshots":[{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/scz96m.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/scz96m.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/scz96h.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/scz96h.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/scw2xo.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/scw2xo.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/scz96i.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/scz96i.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/scz96k.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/scz96k.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/scw2xm.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/scw2xm.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/scz96j.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/scz96j.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/scw2xk.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/scw2xk.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/scz96l.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/scz96l.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/scw2xl.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/scw2xl.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/scw2xn.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/scw2xn.jpg"}]}
