{"id":5,"name":"Baldur's Gate","summary":"Baldur's Gate is a fantasy role-playing video game developed by BioWare and published in 1998 by Interplay Entertainment. It is the first game in the Baldur's Gate series and takes place in the Forgotten Realms, a high fantasy campaign setting, using a modified version of the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (AD&D) 2nd edition rules. It was the first game to use the Infinity Engine for its graphics, with Interplay using the engine for other Forgotten Realms-licensed games, including the Icewind Dale series, as well as other licensed D&D campaign worlds such as Planescape: Torment. The game's story focuses on players controlling a protagonist of their own creation who finds themselves travelling across the Sword Coast alongside a party of companions, to unravel the mystery surrounding a sudden iron crisis affecting the region and attempting to discover the culprits behind it, all while uncovering dark secrets about their origins and dealing with attempts on their life.","rating":85,"metascore":null,"metascoreSource":null,"userScore":85,"userScoreSource":"igdb","releaseYear":1998,"firstReleaseDate":"1998-12-21T00:00:00.000Z","releaseDate":"December 21, 1998","coverUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_cover_big/co20gb.jpg","coverUrlFull":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_1080p/co20gb.jpg","artworkUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_720p/ar4md1.jpg","artworkAspect":2.5481171548117154,"developers":["BioWare","BioWare Edmonton"],"publishers":["Interplay Entertainment","Black Isle Studios"],"developerCompanies":[{"id":2,"name":"BioWare"},{"id":222,"name":"BioWare Edmonton"}],"publisherCompanies":[{"id":5,"name":"Interplay Entertainment"},{"id":12,"name":"Black Isle Studios"}],"genres":["Role-playing (RPG)"],"platforms":["Linux","PC (Microsoft Windows)","iOS","Mac"],"hltb":null,"websites":[{"key":"official","url":"https://www.bioware.com/games/"},{"key":"wikipedia","url":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baldur%27s_Gate_(video_game)"},{"key":"twitch","url":"https://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Baldur's%20Gate"}],"externalGames":[{"key":"twitch","url":"https://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Baldur's Gate"},{"key":"igdb","url":"https://www.igdb.com/games/baldur-s-gate"},{"key":"metacritic","url":"https://www.metacritic.com/game/baldur-s-gate/"}],"videos":[{"videoId":"oCBTRIsAhGE","name":"Trailer","kind":"trailer"}],"screenshots":[{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/sc1072y.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/sc1072y.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/sc1072m.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/sc1072m.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/sc1072u.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/sc1072u.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/inlndqpsep41avgxl8re.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/inlndqpsep41avgxl8re.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/g1luboq2uilkirzjmjix.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/g1luboq2uilkirzjmjix.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/pnlcmjbgsgcroc7eckp0.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/pnlcmjbgsgcroc7eckp0.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/kovmsqezzyde0mnacncx.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/kovmsqezzyde0mnacncx.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/sc1072v.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/sc1072v.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/sc1072w.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/sc1072w.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/sc1072n.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/sc1072n.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/sc1072o.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/sc1072o.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/sc1072p.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/sc1072p.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/sc1072r.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/sc1072r.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/sc1072q.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/sc1072q.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/sc1072z.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/sc1072z.jpg"},{"thumbUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_med/sc1072s.jpg","fullUrl":"https://images.igdb.com/igdb/image/upload/t_screenshot_huge/sc1072s.jpg"}]}
